Last week, my group and I had the opportunity to experience the new Old English Hunt Club lodge and hunt ducks and geese with the team. Greg and David have outdone themselves with this state-of-the-art lodge. The accommodations are amazing, from the open Kitchen/living room/Bar area, and boot room for gear storage to the private bunk rooms. As for the hunt, it was out of this world. Again, Greg and David have outdone themselves by putting together a Guide Team that is professional and fun. These guys know what they are doing and go above and beyond for an experience of a lifetime. Our group had an incredible time and have left with memories that will last a lifetime.
Old English is first class. Great guides and dogs. Nobody can guarantee birds but these guys consistently deliver. We had one hunt with 54 birds (geese and ducks) and a second with 75 geese! They scout their fields every day to ensure ideal opportunity. Accommodations at Crossheirs Retreat Center "Big Jim's Lodge" is 5 star with amazing service and food.
Greg is a great guy and always does a good job putting us on birds. We will be back!
As someone who has been fortunate enough to travel the country chasing waterfowl, I've developed a good sense of what makes a truly great outfitter - and Old English Hunting Club fits that mold perfectly. Run by Greg Jacobs and David Anderson, this operation is a well-oiled machine. They consistently put birds on the ground while maintaining the genuine camaraderie and duck camp atmosphere that makes waterfowl hunting so special. I had the pleasure of hunting with them this past December, and from the moment we stepped into their brand-new lodge, we were treated like family. From the guides and lodging staff to the owners themselves, everyone is there for the right reasons. It was refreshing to see an outfit that truly cares about the full experience - not just the hunt. Even with the tough conditions and thick fog, we still had an outstanding hunt. Old English has definitely earned a yearly spot on my calendar. If you're considering booking a hunt with them - do it. You won't be disappointed.
